“We Are Star Dust” (Science is the Poetry of Reality)
I recently heard Richard Dawkins, in a discussion with Neil DeGrass Tyson, say “science is the poetry of reality.” This accords with my own view, that science is essentially spiritual, and that those who are committed to one of the merely anthropomorphic sects miss the vastness, the full enormity of the beauty of existence. A wonderful effort to express this enormity can be found in John Boswell’s Symphony of Science series, several of which I posted here about ten years ago, and which I am reposting now in two of the best, below:
In the following beautiful rendition, Sagan says ” … If we do not destroy ourselves, we will one day venture to the stars … ”
