Geography professor Paul Beckwith here reviews an important new journal article by James Hansen. I’ve listened to Beckwith for years on the Ecoshock Radio Podcast, where he usually makes sense of the most abstruse climate concepts and facts. It’s a sign of the times, I suppose, that even academic journal articles may use hyperbole in their titles (Hansen’s “Uh Oh. Now What?”). As bad as this year has been (think Maui), it sounds like the next couple of years will be significantly worse. That, according to the data presented here, is “baked-in.”
