It Would Be Foolish To Disregard This Analysis From Two Russian Experts

Editor’s Note: It seems to me that I heard Colonel Douglas Macgregor (or was it one of his colleagues, like Scott Ritter?) once say that Putin doesn’t make idle threats. You may take that, I suppose, the way Biden does … with a pile of salt. But in the meantime, consider the following two compatible statements together, one from an expert Russian analyst (Gilbert Doctorow) and the other from one of our our own military experts, Colonel Douglas Macgregor. The first is from Gilbert Doctorow’s September 26th “Armageddon Newsletter:”

“Russia now states that any attack on its territory by a non nuclear state using missiles and other long range weapons such as the F-16 provided by and guided by a nuclear state (meaning the USA, Britain or France) will be considered as a joint attack by the nuclear and non nuclear state and will prompt a Russian nuclear attack on both.

“Note the timing of the Russian announcement: it comes just before Biden’s meeting in Washington with Zelensky and while the UN General Assembly is in session. Russian Foreign Minister is presently in New York and is explaining the new nuclear doctrine to all those interested, of whom there are assuredly a great many world leaders.”

The second is an approximately 60-second excerpt from a Judge Napolitano interview with Colonel Macgregor):

“I think that Secretary Austin behind closed doors has made it very clear that if we authorize these long- range strikes that Russia will come into a state of war with NATO and the United States, to put it bluntly. And targets in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Germany, Slovakia, Romania and potentially other states in the region will be taken under fire by the Russians. They will launch missiles and destroy infrastructure that is essential to the sustainment of US forces and Allied forces in Eastern Europe. And that’s a war for which we are not prepared, and I think that Secretary Austin has made that privately very clear to the leadership in the White House, and as a result I think there has been a certain amount of sobriety regarding what needs to happen in Eastern Europe. There is now a realization that that war is lost and that a simple addition of a few missiles isn’t going to make any difference. But it could precipitate a war with Russia, and people who are dismissing that out of hand by saying “Well, nothing’s happened thus far so nothing will happen in the future” are extremely irresponsible. And I think the people in the White House understand that, so I think you have to pay homage — at least in this sense — or tribute of some kind to the common sense and rationality of Secretary Austin.”
