How can the same man who seems so personally outraged by Russia’s atrocities in Ukraine continue to support the Saudi assault on Yemen, where two million children face starvation? I don’t know the answer. I can only guess. But one factor common to both wars is the tremendous profits of the arms industry. War seems to be profitable no matter which side we are on, no matter which side can afford the military equipment we are selling.
Here’s an excellent report by Amy Goodman, who looks at the many sides of the tragic war in Yemen, including the inherent racism of our media’s preferential sympathy for white blue-eyed Ukrainian victims, compared to the nearly non-existent media coverage of Yemeni victims.
