Yuba Running High

We stopped at the Highway 49 Crossing of the Yuba River late this afternoon on the way to see a documentary about the Tsi Akim Maidu showing this evening at the North Columbia School House Cultural Center.

Several people said they’d never seen the river running so full. It looks dangerous.

The ranger we talked to at the crossing said that between the sudden arrival of warm days (causing a rapid snow melt) and the release of water from Lake Spaulding, the Yuba is at an all-time high.
