Nevada City May Still Have a Chance to Win Google Gigibit Fiber
Most local reports on Google’s gigabit fiber award announcement today said “Kansas City, not Nevada City … ”
But if you listen carefully to the “fine print” in the announcement today by Google Co-founder and President Sergey Brin, you’ll notice that he leaves open the possibility of more cities winning this fiber support in the future:
” … we’re rolling out communities, starting with Kansas City, that are going to give 1 gigabit of access to every home.”
Listen yourself to his words here.
Keep hope alive, folks!
Thursday 3/31/11 1:55PM — Correction: The Union report on this was thorough, and included this quote from John Paul of Spiral: “This does not mean we’re out. It’s just (Kansas City) is the first.”

Love your eternal optimism!
Thanks Jeff, I love it too.
Optimism is here in the sweet mountain air today at 2500 feet, in the springtime, in the birds chirping outside my window right now, in the plans for the Alpha Building, in the latest jobs data, in the act of getting up every day and putting one foot in front of the other.
Optimism and pessimism are our votes for the shape of the future.
