Here’s Ronald Reagan, in a Labor Day address in 1980, speaking out eloquently in support of unions and collective bargaining.
“These are the values inspiring those brave workers in Poland … They remind us that where free unons and collective bargaining are forbidden, freedom is lost.”
This event will never be part of the Reagan hagiography endlessly cited by worshipful Republican minions like Governor Scott Walker of Minnesota, who is working assiduously to destroy those very freedoms Reagan praised.
