We got our H1N1 Flu Shot This Afternoon
We finally got our H1N1 flu shot this afternoon, after having had our regular yearly flu shot about a month ago (as we have every year for the last twenty years or so). We had no problem with either one.
Judging by the constant long line of people of all ages — from children to elderly — snaking into the Veteran’s Hall for hours this afternoon for the H1N1 vaccine, so did thousands of other people.
I find it encouraging that so many people have not bought into the conspiracy theories about this flu being merely a scam perpetrated by pharmaceutical companies, out to make a financial killing. (In fact, the government had to induce the pharmaceutical companies to produce this inherently low-profit vaccine by guaranteeing them protection from lawsuits).
Most people are apparently persuaded by mainstream science, even in roguish Nevada County.
There will be another H1N1 public clinic next Sunday, the 10th, at the Fairgrounds (main building) from 2 PM to 6 PM.

Don,
Thanks for the “citizen journalism” update.
during the height of the H1N1 or Swine Flu epidemic, i was very afraid to get infected with this disease and i wore face mask whenever i got into heavily populated areas.
